A renown British actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor knows all too well what it means to lose someone close. He narrated how his father passed away when he was only eleven years old, due to an awful car crash that killed him instantly- much to the astonishment of many considering how long they've been able to live without the caretaker who loved them best.
Many may wonder why this man is so blessed that death managed to spare him while managing away all others around him. It could be because - though there are varying opinions on this subject, even from Chiwetel himself.
However, he explained how such lost of loved ones could affect ones view of life. One can only imagine how challenging it had been to live without one parent but Chiwetel explained that he had done well to overcome some of the challenges.
Chiwetel Ejiofor was born on July 10th, 1977 in England to Nigerian parents who had moved there after the Nigerian Civil War. When he was about 3 years old, he began acting and made his first appearance on stage in 1994 as Othello in Othello by William Shakespeare.
In 1997, director Steven Spielberg chose him to play the part of James Covey in Amistad which would mark a turning point in his career. This success led him to being nominated for an Oscar award twice.
