Khafi is facing a misconduct tribunal in the United Kingdom for BBNaija.

Khafilat Kareem, aka Khafi, a Big Brother Naija reality TV personality, is facing a misconduct hearing as a result of her appearance on the show in 2019.

According to the BBC, Khafi called one of the Met's most senior officers hours before coming on the show, pleading with him to overturn an order prohibiting her from doing so.

Despite the fact that she had been advised not to attend the event, the mother of one went ahead and participated on the Nigerian reality show.

She was claimed to have argued that the show would help "market the Met Police" around the world.

Khafi spent 77 days in the BBNaija house before being evicted, where she met her husband, Gedoni Ekpata.

Anne Studd QC, speaking on behalf of the Met Police, said the UK episodes of the Big Brother show had generated concerns, and that Khafi had indicated the UK version of the show was different from the one organised in Nigeria.

"She saw it as an opportunity to promote the Met on an international level," Studd QC added. After reviewing the website and the material presented, Ch Supt Jason Gwillim came to the conclusion that it was not in the best interests of the Met or the officer, and that it would put her in a vulnerable position.

"He explained the reasoning and made it clear that she will not be participating in the show." PC Kareem, according to Gwillim, was disappointed but understood. She went on unpaid leave for a while."

Khafi reportedly texted and then called Deputy Assistant Commissioner Matt Twist on June 30 to inform him that she had travelled to Lagos to participate in the performance.

Despite the fact that Mr Twist was aware of earlier judgments to deny Khafi's request to attend the programme, he told Khafi that he couldn't reconsider any decision on a Sunday.

I got the sense she was calling in the hopes of persuading me to reconsider my decision." Mr Twist stated, "I got the idea she was in Nigeria; I had the strong sensation she was going to do it, but she didn't say anything."
