Ebonyi market burns down, the council chief comforts the traders

In the late evening of Tuesday july 12, a section of the Eke Market, Amangbala community, in the Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, was destroyed by fire. The loss of goods and property is estimated to be in the millions of naira. Numerous stores apparently burned down, despite the fact that the origin of the fire was still unknown at the time this report was filed. This setback will be overcome by all of you. The Chairman of the Afikpo Market Traders Association, Mr. Johnson Inya Oka, showed the council chief around the rubble as he lobbied the state government for aid for the victims.
