Some employees at the Federal Government Girls' College in Bwari confided in our correspondent that the Federal Ministry of Education had given them the go-ahead to let students leave the campus before Wednesday.
Staff members reportedly confided in our correspondent that the school will be closed today despite the Wednesday deadline because parents were expected to take up their children by noon on Monday. However, some parents, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, stated that a message received from the school administration alerting parents to come pick up their children by Monday noon. Attempts to contact the authorities for comments on the incident have been fruitless. Reports Metro were unable to reach Mr. Ben Goong, Director of Press, Federal Ministry of Education, for comment on the situation even though sources within the Federal Ministry of Education confirmed to our correspondent that the schools were ordered to be closed due to security threats and fear of impending bandit and terrorist attacks.
