NABTEB No Longer Recognized For Direct Entry – JAMB

Students who are taking exams administered by the National Business and Technical Education Board have received an update from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Examinations. For candidates seeking direct entry admissions to postsecondary institutions, JAMB announced that it will no longer take A'level results from NABTEB into consideration. This information was revealed by the JAMB registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, at the 2022 policy meeting, which is currently taking place at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

"The Honorable Minister of Education has approved the removal of the NABTEB A'level GCE as a requirement for DE beginning in 2022. However, everyone who acquired it before this date will be able to utilize it, according to Oloyede.

Oloyede elaborated on some of the difficulties the board experienced in conducting the UTME/DE exam in 2022 during the policy meeting. Exam misconduct, paid exam-takers impersonating and substituting real candidates, dishonest CBT owners sabotaging exams, parents encouraging exam-takers, syndicated mass cheating, and lengthy investigation and prosecution were among the issues he cited.
