Momodu has accused the Fuji musician of disrespecting Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale, the Oluwo of Iwo Land. Momodu had uploaded a video showing the Oluwo being greeted by KWAM 1. In the video, the musician questioned the monarch, demanding an explanation for why he had not been invited to a ceremony in Momodu's honor. In the same vehicle as Oluwo, KWAM 1 had met the other king before turning to confront the ruler of the Iwo people.
"A friend in Abuja just sent me this video and I'm absolutely horrified, to put it mildly, at the total and OPEN disrespect of The Oluwo of Iwoland OBA ABDULRASHEED ADEWALE AKANBI by KING WASIU AYINDE, a great musician I endlessly adore and hold in highest regard," Momodu wrote in a post on social media.
“ALHAJI, You were personally invited and begged to perform at the ceremony on October 2, 2021, for a set fee, but you did not respond positively or no, only indicating that you were likely to travel. Once more, I had breakfast with your manager, Mr. Kunle Rasheed, and requested him to speak with you and clarify the details of your performance. Egbon, what happened in this video is really regrettable and ought to be condemned OUTRIGHT.
