DHQ reports that troops seized N3.7 billion in stolen crude oil.

 The Defence Headquarters reported on Thursday that over the course of two weeks, troops from the combined operations Delta Safe, Octopus Grip, and Dakar Da Barawo successfully seized petroleum products worth N3, 708,259,338.00 from suspected oil thieves in the Niger Delta. The Nigerian Army Guards Brigade troops allegedly searched suspected terrorist hideouts in Deidei Abattoir in the Federal Capital Territory's Gwagwalada Area Council and Abuja Municipal Area Council, according to the military high command. Major General Musa Danmadami, the director of defense media operations, revealed this when he briefed journalists on the troop's activities from August 11 to August 25. The suspects' petroleum products included 25,977.15 barrels of crude oil, 3,236,130 liters of automotive gas oil, 26,575 liters of premium motor spirit, and 2,000 liters of dual-purpose kerosene, according to the breakdown he provided. Additionally, soldiers detained 21 pipeline vandals.

Additionally, troops found three AK-47 rifles, 14 pumping machines, two generators, four tankers, two speed boats, and one outboard engine. Danmadami pointed out that during the raids, the forces also found and demolished a number of unauthorized refinery sites. In addition to the eight suspected terrorists who were detained, the Guards Brigade also found eight firearms and other things during the operation. "On August 13, 2022, troops from the Guards Brigade conducted raids on certain suspected terrorist hideouts at the Deidei Abattoir in the Abuja Municipal Area Council and Dupka village in the Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory," the statement continued. Eight suspected terrorists were detained during the raid operation; five AK-47 rifles and pump action weapons were also found; substantial quantities of materials thought to be cannabis sativa, three machetes, and other items were also found. He continued by saying that troops had slain a number of terrorists, including Aminu Duniya, the leader of a bandit gang, and Uzaifa, a prominent commander of the ISWAP known as the "Minzir."
