The Leventis Foundation and Kano State Agricultural Training School, Panda, have been given N377.3 million by the Kano State Executive Council as outstanding counterpart monies for the years 2017 through 2020.This was revealed by the state's information commissioner, Muhammad Garba, as he briefed reporters on the results of the weekly meeting that had taken place in the council chamber of Kano's government house. He said that since its inception in 1988, the school has trained and graduated more than 2,700 young people in the state's value chains for agriculture, livestock, and fisheries. According to him, the school's curriculum is in keeping with the Agricultural Transformation Programme, which is also in line with the state's trust-in-agriculture policy.
Garba emphasized that despite the non-receipt of the funds, the school's programs and activities, including as staff wages and operational standards, continue. The commissioner further disclosed that the council had authorized an increase in the operative rates for the two-coat surface treated road network being built at the NNDC Quarters in Sharada, which had been granted for N48.5 million but was later increased to N105.6 million. He added that the council also received an update on the Muhammadu Buhari Interchange project, which is being built at the NNPC mega Station Rotary Intersection, Hotoro, along Maiduguri Road, for the month of May of this year.

He said that the council had also authorized the implementation of the N6, 891, 011, 898.85 billion 2022 budget for the state Contributory Healthcare Management Agency. The commissioner also stated that the council has given its approval for the addition of delegates from security organizations to the 21-member Kano State Council of Emirs. Following a request from the Committee on Education and Elders in the Bebeji local government, Garba announced that the council had approved the renaming of Girls Science and Technical College Gwarmai to Hajiya Mariya Sunusi Dantata, mother of well-known businessman Alhaji Aliko Dangote, in recognition of her son's contribution to the advancement of education. The council also approved the construction of two cell RC box culverts as flood control measures at the airport by the Katsina Road Roundabout and the purchase of firefighting operating vehicles. These are only a few of the other permissions that were made.
Other ratifications by the council, according to Garba, include the award of contracts for the construction of the Kwanar Garin Ali-Garin Ali Road in the Garko local government and the provision of water treatment chemicals in 2021.
