Man passes away at a hotel after meeting a lover online

 Abdulwaheed Lamidi, 55, passed away while staying at the City International Motel, Council Bus-Stop, in the Ikotun neighborhood of Lagos State. Social media users discovered that Lamidi and his 32-year-old partner connected online and decided to start dating after having several conversations. The couple allegedly decided to meet in person, which led to the relationship blossoming. According to information provided by our journalist, the woman traveled from her home in another state on Saturday to meet Lamidi at the motel. It was claimed that the lovers stayed up all night together in a room. However, on Sunday morning, things changed. According to a source, the girlfriend abruptly hurried outside to make a rescue call while the lovers were inside the room. He continued, saying that when a few hotel staff members sprang inside the room, they discovered Lamidi lying motionless on the floor.

The girl reported that the male attempted to use the restroom but instead slouched and collapsed. A doctor from a nearby hospital was called, and when he arrived in the room, he pronounced the man dead. The woman claimed she traveled to Lagos to meet the man because he had promised to marry her; she brought some goods and planned to move into his home to live with him as a live-in lover. They went to the hotel rather than the man's house, and while they were there, the man slumped, prompting the girl to go outside and ask for assistance. He was found comatose on the floor when someone rushed inside the room. Although the girl had just come from another state on Saturday, the incident took place about 8:40am on Sunday. The girl claimed to have chatted with the man after meeting him online, the insider continued.

The woman was arrested and taken to be questioned while the body was taken to a mortuary. The suspect declined to include her parents in the inquiry, according to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police public relations officer who confirmed the occurrence. We reached out to the deceased's family, and they responded, he said. They are requesting only to receive their corpse. Despite their claim that they had no interest in participating in any criminal investigations, the command is still reviewing their application through its legal division. The body has been placed in a mortuary, but a decision has not yet been made. The woman is still in our care and has chosen not to provide us with her family's contact information because she doesn't want them to know what occurred.
