NFF sets the election for the executive committee for September 30.

 The NFF Elective Congress 2022 will take place on September 30, 2022, according to the Nigerian Football Federation. The NFF Statutes (2010) and the NFF Electoral Code's provisions were also authorized for suspension by the body (2009). On Thursday, the NFF executive committee met at the Best Western Hotel on Victoria Island, Lagos State, and approved the date. This was said in a statement that NFF spokesperson Ademola Olajire made accessible to journalists on Friday. The current NFF executive committee's continuation in office to oversee the elections on September 30, 2022, was also endorsed by the congress. "The General Assembly expressed heartfelt appreciation of the entire Nigeria Football fraternity to the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR as an individual and the Federal Government as a body, for the continued support and encouragement of the NFF, the various National Teams, and Nigeria Football generally," the communiqué stated.

The sections of the NFF Statutes (2010) and the NFF Electoral Code (2009) that specify a specific amount of time between the time the Electoral Committee is established and the conduct of elections into the NFF Executive Committee were agreed by the Congress to be suspended. Thus, the Congress decided to hold the NFF Elective Congress 2022 on Friday, September 30. "In light of the foregoing, the Congress established the NFF Election Committee and the NFF Election Appeals Committee 2022 in the following manner: NFF Elections Committee 2022: Aikhunegire Anthony Malik, Justice Abdulkadir Zakariyya, Babatunde Ogala, SAN, Daha Umar Daura, Danburam, and Gambo Mamman (Member). Alternate Members: Attorneys Ransom Ariyo and Ifeanyi Dike 
Barrister Gandi Umar, mni (Chairman); Ayo Akindele, SAN (Vice Chairman); Rev. Obioma Onyeaghala are the members of the NFF Election Appeals Committee for 2022. (Member). Alternate Members: Attorneys Idi Halidu Ali and Chive Kaave "Benin City, the capital of Edo State, has been chosen as the site for the NFF Elective Congress 2022 by the General Assembly.

"In order to prevent any kind of vacuum, the Congress approved that the current NFF Executive Committee remain in office to conduct the 30th September 2022 elections after a motion was made on the General Assembly floor. "Congress decided that the NFF General Secretary should immediately inform FIFA of all decisions made at the Annual General Assembly for their review, endorsement, and ratification. This includes the Electoral Roadmap. The Lagos State Government's ongoing support and promotion of Nigeria Football was acknowledged by the General Assembly.
