Police are looking into six Enugu residents' strange deaths.

Ahmed Ammani, the Enugu State commissioner of police, has directed the state's criminal investigation department to look into the circumstances behind the deaths of six people in a community in Enugu. Ammani issued the instruction in a press release issued on Sunday night through police Public Relations Officer DSP Daniel Ndukwe. Akutara hamlet, in the Adani community of the Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, was the site of eight people being hospitalized under the same peculiar circumstances. He also gave the CID department instructions to investigate. The directions, according to the statement, were issued in response to a report alleging the sudden and unforeseen deaths and hospitalization at Akutara village in the Adani community on August 27 at around 9:30 a.m.

"Preliminary inquiry revealed that one of the verified deceased persons, Obinna Dike, 31, attended his own traditional wedding ceremony at Obollor-Eke in Udenu council area on August 26 with his family and other victims of the tragedy," the statement read. "They returned home and carried on the celebration after that. "However, none of them left their sleeping quarters the next morning. When the door was forced open as a result, all of the people within the room were discovered to be unconscious and emitting foam from their mouths. They were brought to the hospital, where six of them were determined to be dead and placed in the mortuary for preservation and an autopsy, according to the statement. Eight more people who survived are currently responding to treatment in a nearby hospital. The Commissioner, who expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and friends, urged the community's citizens to maintain peace and assist the police with the information they need to determine what caused the victims' deaths.
