The Lagos State Police Command has seized 21 packages of materials that they believe to be made of Indian hemp. Officers from the Ogba region of the state's Area G Command intercepted the illegal substances. This was confirmed in a statement released on Friday by Benjamin Hundeyin, the command's Police Public Relations Officer. He claimed that the illegal substances were being transported and hidden in the bonnet of a Sienna bus with the license plate BEN 883 LW that was being operated by one Kalu Orji, age 32, of Angle 90, Auchi, Edo State.
However, the suspect's luck ran out when alert police officers from Area G command halted the car around 15:40 on Friday, August 5, 2022, near the Excellence Hotel in Aguda, Lagos State. CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc, mnim, the commissioner of police for Lagos State, has ordered that the suspect and the exhibit be brought to the command center for additional inquiry. In addition, he guarantees the public that there will be enough protection for people and their property, as well as a long-term solution to the problem of drug abuse and usage in Lagos State, according to the statement.
