Jackie Agyemang Appiah, better known by her maiden name of "Jackie Appiah," is a prominent
Ghanaian actress who was born in Canada on December 4, 1983. She was the last of five children and was born into a middle-class family.
She attended the Derry Down Public School in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for her basic schooling before relocating to Ghana to complete her high school studies. To live with her older sister, Jackie moved to Ghana in 1995. She enrolled at Faith Montessori in Accra. Later, she transferred to Achimota Preparatory School after leaving Faith Montessori. At Achimota Preparatory School, Jackie was the Girls' Entertainment prefect, which fueled her interest in the arts. Jackie tried out for the Hal Jackson Talent Teens Show at the time, which was held at the illustrious Apollo Theatre. Fortunately, she won the talent show's first runner-up award. Jackie attended Harvard College in Accra to study general arts. She had a son with Peter Agyemang after they got married.
Before opting to try her hand at acting, Jackie Appiah ventured into modeling after completing her undergraduate education and appeared for many brands in Accra, Ghana. Jackie Appiah joined Ghana's film business, known as Ghallywood, in 2001, and made her screen debut when Edward Seddoh asked her to portray the part of Enyonam Blagogee. She was introduced to the fictional world and the industry thanks to her part in that film. Jackie Appiah appeared in a number of additional popular Ghanaian films after her debut, including Tentacles, Games People Play, Sun-city, The King Is Mine, and many more.
