Suspected Ebubeagu police sweep through the Imo community and torch homes

An invasion by security personnel said to be from the Ebubeagu security organization on Thursday night that resulted in the burning of numerous homes in the Izombe community in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State caused fear. Our source learned that the suspects arrived in the area in a number of vehicles and immediately began attacking locals while setting fire to their homes and businesses. Community members were forced to leave their houses as a result of the development, and the arsonists had a field day. Although the cause of the arson was not determined, it might not be unrelated to the altercation between the security agency and some community residents that occurred around a month ago and that prompted the Ebubeagu police to attack the neighborhood and set shops and vehicles on fire.

Several community members who spoke with our reporter stated they had left their houses. One of the locals requested assistance from the authorities, describing the damages as enormous. Chinedu Nnadi, a preacher and prominent member of the community, denounced the Ebubeagu cops' actions in their neighborhood. Therefore, he requested intervention from notable members of the community, including army general Kalu and the APC candidate for the Ohaji-Egbema/Oguta/Oru West Federal Constituency. The local official exclaimed, "My heart bleeds. Ebubeagu, which was formerly a peaceful village, has set fire to my town, Izombe. Killing and home burning are taking place. Where are our army generals Eugine Dibiagwu, Ifeobu, and Kalu? It's time to tell the governor the truth while gazing into his face. As of the time this story was submitted, the state's police spokesperson, Michael Abattam, had not responded to a question about the incident.
