On Friday, June 24, 2022, Ogogo responded to the incident by posting a statement on his Instagram page. The former boxer-turned-action guy claimed that while in his birthplace of Ilaro for a project inspection, three unidentified admirers accosted him and demanded money. He claimed that after giving up all of the cash he had with him, a haughty admirer demanded more and involved his traditional dress, the "agbada," in the process, which prompted his outburst. Ogogo challenged the fan to do his worst, which infuriated him and they got into a fight.
Before bloggers pick this up, let me tell my side of the story and the truth," the actor remarked as he described what transpired.
''He continued, "I was in my hometown of Ilaro for a project inspection when some unidentified men approached me for the customary appraisals. Give up money, "We saw your movie," "We watched you throughout our youth"... As actors, we constantly hear all of these.
I gave them everything I had, but one of them pulled me by my agbada and made a demand for money I couldn't afford. I begged him to leave, to which he replied, "Do your worst." The remainder is a narrative.
"Are people paid for the work you do? No. Our job is to do it. When we offer anything, accept it. Always keep in mind that you were a boxer once.
