Three people were killed in the Kogi car accident.

On Wednesday, the sector command of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Kogi reported that three people had died as a result of an articulated vehicle colliding with a bus that was already stopped. According to information obtained by our correspondent, the accident happened on Wednesday along Okene-Auchi Road in the village of Ogudar. In a statement released early on Thursday, Stephen Dawulung, the Kogi FRSC Sector Corps Commander, stated that the bodies of the three bus passengers had been placed to the morgue of the Okengwen General Hospital in the Okene Local Government Area of Kogi. Given the circumstances of the crash, the FRSC commander called the situation "extremely sad" and "unfortunate."

At a military checkpoint, a Nissan Sunny Sedan bus was stopped behind a vehicle when another truck lost control and slammed into the bus, squeezing it between the two. Investigation revealed that the truck's brake had failed, causing it to crash into the bus from behind and killing three men. The other two passengers were saved unharmed. In other words, the truck was thought to have mechanical issues that caused it to lose control and crash, the man said. According to Dawulung, his police and men were able to remove the traffic snarl so that traffic could flow freely along the Okene-Auchi Road. He stated that in order to prevent unpleasant accidents on the roadways, drivers must undertake routine vehicle inspections and maintenance. Additionally, he urged drivers to follow all traffic laws and speed limits while on the road. We anticipate that this will lessen both the frequency of crashes and the seriousness of injuries, the man stated.
