Comedian Bovi explains why he refurbished Edo Primary School.

The University of Benin Staff School in Edo State was refurbished for the reasons given by comedian and actress Bovi Ugboma. Bovi said in a lengthy post on his Instagram page on Tuesday that he had always given the primary school credit for his current successes. He claimed that he was compelled to repair the 20-classroom block, two staff rooms, and one library after becoming quite saddened by the plight of the facilities. "Those who know me well know how I have always given credit to my primary school for what I have become," Bovi wrote. My fundamental path was lucky in that I received the best instructors from kindergarten through primary 5. They were all so excellent that I can still recall each person's name. On a hectare of land, there existed a prominent institution. That is three times larger than many modern educational institutions. Only a few private schools nowadays can say they attended a school with such high international standards.

You can therefore imagine how saddened I was to see the facilities in the institution's deteriorated state when I went. Inside, I cried. I painstakingly watched the renovation of the 20-classroom building, the two staff rooms, and the library during the past three months. I completed my last two years of primary school here. Bovi thanked Philip Shuaibu, the deputy governor of Edo State, in another post for "squeezing the commissioning into his tight schedule. Twelve hours before it opened, he learned about it and made a commitment to go. He also expressed his gratitude for the efforts made by Professor Lilian Salami, vice chancellor of UNIBEN, and his colleagues comedians I Go Die and I Go Save.
