Five people died in the Anambra collision, and the FRSC blames speeding

On Sunday evening, a truck and a jeep collided on the Enugu-Agidi near the Awka-Enugu Expressway in Anambra, killing five people in total. The event was reported to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Awka by the Federal Road Safety Corps commander for Anambra State, Mr. Adeoye Irelewuyi. Irelewuyi claimed that speeding and a loss of control were to blame for the collision. "An unnamed driver of a black Lexus with the license plate KJA182HS and an unidentified driver of a red truck with no license plate were both engaged in the deadly collision.

"According to eyewitness accounts, the truck driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the truck and rammed into the Lexus SUV. "The accident involved a total of five people: a female child, a female adult, and three male adults. They were killed, five of them. The victims were taken to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, where the on-duty doctor declared them dead. The remains were then placed in the hospital morgue, according to the FRSC rescue team from the Sector Command. The Sector Commander expressed sympathy to the families of the deceased while advising drivers, particularly truck drivers, to obey the posted speed limit and drive safely. "Drive to arrive alive and kill the speed before it kills you. Let's maintain our roads accident-free, he said.
