Walid Jibrin, the People's Democratic Party's board chairman, has resigned from his position. On Thursday in Abuja, he made this announcement at the party's 97th Board of Trustees meeting. He claimed that the choice was taken to guarantee that the party's presidential candidate won the 2023 elections. If Atiku Abubakar wins, Jibrin said he was certain he will be given consideration for a more important post. He said, “I took this decision based on what I said in the past. I stated that my sincere decision to resign from the BoT was motivated by the fact that all we wanted to ensure was that Atiku Abubakar won the presidency. The candidate and I talked about this, and he agreed with me. I have no doubt that I will receive a promotion if the party prevails.
