Nnamdi Kanu: "Igbo are cruelly handled," claims Metuh

Olisa Metuh, a former national publicity secretary for the Persons's Democratic Party, claimed that Nnamdi Kanu's ongoing detention was evidence of the nation's discriminatory treatment of people from the South-East. He also urged ardent prayers from well-meaning Nigerians for God to step in and liberate Kanu through the legal system. In a statement released on Sunday, Metuh requested Kanu's unconditional release, highlighting the fact that doing so would bring peace and normalcy back to the South-East area and have a beneficial ripple effect over the entire nation. The former PDP spokesperson also denounced the "systematic extortion and abuse" of South-Easterners by dishonest agents in security organizations and government institutions. The region needs Nnamdi Kanu's unconditional release to return peace and normalcy given the appalling security situation in the South-East. The country as a whole will benefit from peace in the southeast.

The reality is that a lot of people don't like how Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was kidnapped in a foreign country and brought to Nigeria in chains to stand trial for a variety of offenses. Many people believe Nnamdi Kanu is in pain because he has drawn attention to the Igbos' situation in the current Nigeria, he stated. "It is apparent that Igbos still face stigmatization and unfair treatment at the hands of unscrupulous operatives in security agencies and the Nigerian bureaucracy," Metuh lamented the predicament of South Easterners in Nigeria."Systematic extortion of South East businessmen by corrupt Nigerian supervisory officials causes animosity among the South East population. Because they are well aware of the unfriendly treatment they have received at the hands of government officials, they pay to survive out of intimidation and harassment. "The South East will feel more secure knowing that this nation has accommodations for them if Nnamdi Kanu is free. Let our nation be one of justice, equity, and fairness.
