Police receive 431 petitions regarding police wrongdoing.

 Between July and September 5, 2022, there were no fewer than 431 complaints from citizens about Nigeria Police Force employees. However, 304 complaints had been settled, and 81 ineffective police personnel had received punished. These were stated in a document created by Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Police Affairs, outlining the initiatives taken by his ministry and the NPF to maintain police officer discipline. It stated, in part, that police personnel must act professionally and comply to current laws when performing their legal obligations. This has made it necessary to investigate the different complaints made against police actions on social media and to impose sanctions on those who break the laws governing the conduct of police officers. 431 complaints over police actions have been filed in the last three months. 304 of these complaints have been handled, and 81 incompetent policemen and officers have received punishment. "Seven of these police officers were discharged due to serious violations 40 cops are currently going through internal disciplinary procedures to ascertain their guilt or innocence.

In addition to sanctions, the minister stated that the PPCC began sensitization campaigns in 2021 that were directed at the six geo-political zones. She added that the campaigns for the South-West, South-South, North-Central, and North-West had already been completed, while the North-East campaign was scheduled to take place on September 9 in Bauchi.
