The APC-sponsored thugs attacked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates' campaign train this evening as it was leaving the Ikoga Junction neighborhood of Badagry Local Government after visiting party members there.
Several members of Jandor's entourage and pressmen were hurt during the attack.
One of the news reporters is now being treated for injuries at an unnamed hospital in critical condition as of the time of this press release.
The thugs who attacked the campaign train shouted "APC" and brandished lethal weapons and firearms.
You may remember that recently, our party expressed concern over the threat to use APC-sponsored thugs to attack the campaign initiatives of our governor candidate, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran-JANDOR. We would like to state unequivocally that this threat will not deter our candidate's determination to run for office and win on March 29, 2023.
In order to prevent similar incidents in the future and to give our members confidence that they will be protected during this campaign, we are requesting that the Area Commander of Police in the Badagry division and the Commissioner of Police of Lagos State do everything in their power to identify the perpetrators of the attack and to take the appropriate disciplinary action against them.
We would also like to issue a stern warning to anyone who is hell-bent on causing disturbance or planning to sabotage the campaign and elections, saying that we will not stand by and do nothing in the face of intimidation.
