Regarding alleged copyright infringement, singer Asa is suing Tempoe and Joeboy for N300m.

Veteran singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Asa has issued a N300 million payment claim in response to copyright infringement in Joeboy's "Contour" by Afrobeats musician Joeboy and producer Tempoe.

The musician Joeboy uploaded a letter from Asa's Lawyers that contained claims of a copyright lawsuit relating to the creation of Joeboy's "Contour" on his Instagram Story.

The lawyers for "fire on the mountain" singer Asa allegedly wrote the song's lyrics and created its arrangement during a recording session with music producer Tempoe on September 22, 2020, according to the letter.

Furthermore, according to the letter, Joeboy and Tempoe were not given authorization by their customer to use the instrumentation in the track.

The song must be removed from all digital streaming services within 24 hours, according to the demands of Asa's attorneys.

They also ordered that Joeboy and Tempoe apologize to their client for the copyright violation and seize any and all further infractions.

Since then, Joe has received the request and ignored it. He laughed and typed "LOL" when he reposted the letter on his Instagram story.

"Because I dey always do love and light you assume sey I be soft meat," he said on a subsequent slide.

"You said I had 24 hours, but it's been 48 hours. Do something," he continued.

Joeboy's song "Contour," which was created by beatmaker Tempoe, was released in August 2022.

Bukola Elemide, better known by his stage name Aa, is a Nigerian-French singer, songwriter, and recording artist. Bukola Elemide was born on September 17, 1982. Aa was born in Paris to Nigerian parents who were both employed and enrolled in film school there. After she turned two, her family relocated back to Nigeria. Her parents are natives of Itoku, in the Abeokuta South local government area of Nigeria's Ogun State. Aa was born and raised in Lagos City, which is located in the southwest of Nigeria. After 18 years, she moved back to Paris, where her career as an artist began to flourish. Three of her brothers are older.
Asa's appreciation for great music grown throughout the years as a result of the collection her father amassed for his job as a cameraman. Artists including Marvin Gaye, Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Aretha Franklin, King Sunny Adé, Diana Ross, Nina Simone, and Miriam Makeba were among the performers on these songs, which featured American, Nigerian, and African soul classics. Aa found inspiration in her father's song collection.
When Asa first met her manager and friend Janet Nwose in 2004, they introduced each other to Cobhams Asuquo, who went on to produce Asa's debut studio album (Asha). At the age of 20, Aa traveled back to France to enroll at the IMFP school of jazz music. There, she was advised by the instructors to pursue her dream of becoming a recording artist because she was capable and did not require further education. Her debut hit, "Eyé Adaba," was starting to gain radio back in Nigeria. Soon after, Aa signed with Nave Records. She co-produced Asuquo's platinum-selling debut album with him, and with the addition of Christophe Dupouy and Benjamin Constant. Aa entered the radio charts after the album's release throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa. In 2008, a jury of 19 music industry experts in Paris selected Aa as the best new talent out of 10 singers or groups, and she went on to win the prestigious French Constantin Award.
She collaborated with French composer Nicolas Mollard on her second album, Beautiful Imperfection, which was published on October 25, 2010, and it was certified platinum in 2011. Be My Man, the album's lead song, was made available to the public in late September 2010. Aa reportedly sold 400,000 albums globally by the year 2014.

Bed of Stone, Asa's third studio album, was made available in August 2014. "Dead Again," "Eyo," "Satan Be Gone," "The One That Never Comes," and "Moving On" are the singles. Between 2015 and 2017, she undertook a global tour.
She debuted a new single on May 14 titled "The Beginning," then on June 25 she debuted a new single titled "Good Thing." Her new album, Lucid, was released on October 11, 2019, as she had stated on her Twitter page on September 11. On February 25, 2022, she released her fifth album, "V," which featured artists including Wizkid, The Cavemen, a Nigerian highlife duo, and Ghanaian singer Amaarae.
