“Who Remain Wey 001 Never Meet?” Davido Visits Former Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and Family in Palace
Over the years, popular Nigerian artist Davido has been able to extend his network beyond the entertainment sector. The musician has been spotted on numerous occasions with prominent men of influence both domestically and internationally.
He visited the Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, according to a post that was initially uploaded online by the 30BG leader on his Instagram story channel. In the footage, Davido was seen sitting near the former Emir and holding a young child inside the palace.
The deposed ruler posed for what appeared to be a photo with the Fem singer while holding a youngster on his lap.
David Adedeji Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer who was born on November 21, 1992. His music combines conventional African themes with contemporary global pop.
Davido released "Dami Duro," the second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo, in 2012 and went on to win the Next Rated Award at The Headies (2012). He recorded several successful singles between 2013 and 2015, and in January 2016, he agreed to a record deal with Sony Music. He subsequently established the record company Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), which has signed artists like Mayorkun, Liya, Peruzzi, and Dremo. Davido and Sony's RCA Records inked a record deal in July 2016. His five-track EP Son of Mercy, which included the singles "Gbagbe Oshi," "How Long," and "Coolest Kid in Africa," was released in October 2016. Due to problems with creative autonomy, Davido renegotiated his contract with Sony in April 2017. Later that year, he released five songs, including "If" and "Fall." While "Fall" became the longest-charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history, "If" sparked global social media engagement. Davido is renowned for being dubbed "The king of current afrobeats."
David Adedeji Adeleke was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 21, 1992. His mother Vero Adeleke was a university lecturer, while his father Adedeji Adeleke is a business tycoon. Davido is the second son born to his father and the youngest of five children. At the age of 16, he returned to the United States to pursue a degree in business administration at Oakwood University in Alabama. He had previously attended the British International School in Lagos, Nigeria.
While attending Oakwood, Davido acquired musical instruments and began producing beats. He cofounded the musical group KB International with his cousins B-Red and Sina Rambo. Davido relocated to London to improve on his vocals after quitting Oakwood University to devote himself to music full-time. In order to respect his father, Davido decided to suspend his music career after moving back to Nigeria in 2011 and enroll in Babcock University. He received a music degree from Babcock in July 2015 after his father sponsored the school to establish a music department for a single student's inaugural class.
On July 17, Spotify revealed that Davido's songs had received more than 1 billion streams, joining other Nigerian artists including Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Ckay.
