Actress Monalisa Chinda honored with Chieftaincy

 

Monalisa Chinda, a Nollywood actress, is overjoyed after being awarded a Chieftaincy title.

The fair-skinned actress took to Instagram to inform her millions of followers of the good news.

Monalisa was bestowed with the prestigious title in recognition of her contribution to her culture.

The actress deserves it without a doubt because she has been a staunch supporter of her culture and tradition.

The actress was given the chieftaincy title during the New Yam Festival.

Tricia Eseigbe Kerry, Francis Duru, Andy Chukwu, and others were among those who attended the festival.

Reality TV star Hazel Onou, aka Whitemoney, was awarded a chieftaincy title as the "gwù di Igbo," which translates as "The Pride of Igbos" for her efforts in promoting Igbo culture.

The Big Brother Naija Season 6 winner stated that he plans to use his new chieftaincy title to positively inspire youths in his Lagos State community.

The reality star, who was overjoyed with the honor, revealed the news in an Instagram post on Monday.

"First and foremost, our people say that when a child washes his hands well, he may sit with elders." Another title has been added: UGWU NDIGBO, which translates as "THE PRIDE OF IGBOS."

"Last Saturday was another humbling moment for me as I was conferred as 'UGWU NDIGBO' by the Igbo speaking community in Lagos State."

In Ghana, seasoned Nollywood actor Jim Iyke was given the title of chieftain.

On the occasion of the tenth Yam Festival, the actor received the title of chieftain.

Jim Iyke now joins the list of famous Nigerians who have been given the title of chieftain.

Under Felix I. Njoku, the Ogaraku II of Logara, he received the honor.
