According to Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the Afenifere group's meetings would now take place in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, denoting the departure of Chief Ayo Adebanjo as its head.
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, is once again receiving the support of the organization, according to Fasoranti, a frontline educator and Second Republic Commissioner for Finance in Ondo State.
He denied claims that he was paid to support the Jagaban Borgu, asserting that he has always been a man of principles.
After designating Adebanjo as the acting leader, Fasoranti claimed that those who convened at Ogbo misunderstood and misread him.
He bemoaned the fact that they moved the Afenifere meeting to Adebanjo's house because they thought he was going crazy.
Fasoranti added that some people thought he didn't understand things, and the person who said that has now apologized.
Fasoranti asserted that he is not mentally impaired and added, "There is no shaking."
In the 2023 presidential elections, Adebanjo supported Peter Obi, a candidate for the Labour Party, stating that it was in the interest of fairness and equity.
However, Fasoranti and his side endorsed Tinubu last week, widening the gap in the leading Yoruba social-political group.
