Emeka Rollas Re-elected As AGN President










Ejezie Emeka Rollas has been elected as the new National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) for a second term that will last for three years.

The guild's 2022 Nollywood Actor Summit concluded on Tuesday in Benin City, Edo, and reports claim that the new leadership was re-elected.

Abubakar Yakubu Salisu received 120 "yes" votes against one "nay" vote to return as National Secretary, and Emeka received 115 affirmative votes from approximately 120 delegates from 20 states to keep his position. Abubakar Yakubu Salisu received one "nay" vote.

Steve Eboh, Chairman of the NEC, and Emma Ogugua, Chairman of the Guild's Board of Trustees, oversaw the election.

Emeka Rollas, the guild's current National President, was re-elected, and veteran actress Oby Okaforwin became the guild's new National Treasurer alongside Nazareth Jesse, Marcus Maina, Bukky Fagbuyi, Clement Anigbo, and Moklese Osain as Vice Presidents for North-Central, North-East, South-West, South-East, and South-South, respectively.She won over Rhoda Adugba, who received fifty votes.

In the meantime, the star actress Monalisa Chinda-Coker decided not to run for a second term, so the guild declared the position of National PRO vacant.

The actress was working on a new project that will require her full attention for the next year, according to insiders.It is understood that the Guild will eventually fill the position through a by-election.

The new Exco was sworn in on Tuesday and will serve a new three-year term.
