Eniola Badmus repays Funke Akindele by skipping her prestigious film debut.

 At Funke Akindele's gala movie debut over the weekend, several Nollywood celebrities competed for the title of best-dressed, but her on-and-off best friend and coworker Eniola Badmus was noticeably absent. Eniola Badmus made sure to skip the movie premiere even though she assisted in creating a promotional post for the film in order to make up to Funke Akindele for the times she skipped her own events as well. Funke Akindele is notorious for missing Eniola Badmus' occasions, including her father's funeral, her 20 years on stage celebration, and others, leaving many fans wondering about the nature of their friendship.

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo felt compelled to subtly criticize Funke Akindele for skipping Eniola Badmus' 20th anniversary party on stage on December 9, 2021. Iyabo Ojo later said that Funke Akindele should stop classifying individuals or excluding them from her life and refrain from simply bringing people together when necessary. Despite the fact that Iyabo Ojo omitted Funke Akindele's name from the post, many online users inferred that Funke was the target because of her absence from Eniola's celebration.

Choosing not to show up for Funke Akindele this time, Eniola Badmus around the same time the movie premiere was going on in Lagos went on her page to post a video of herself in celestial sultana dancing for joy.
