Family raises N1m for Kanu's subsistence while being held

The family of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and a senior Nigerian attorney, Mike Ozekhome, will release a N1 million check for Kanu's medication and food on Friday. After visiting Kanu on Thursday with his family, Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu's special counsel, raised the alarm. "I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with Prince Emma Kanu and Barr," Ejimakor added. Ejiofor Nnaemeka. He gave me the order to inform the public that he hasn't received his medication in nine days and that DSS claims they don't have the money to buy him meals today.

Ejimakor described this startling revelation as “sad”.

Confirming this development, Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Emma Kanu said, “This is a confirmed story. “Yesterday (Thursday), when we visited him, he has not had any food.

“I asked them (DSS) why, they said that there is no money for his regular meal and that they don’t have any money.

“So, we have also explained everything to the SAN, Mike Ozekhome.

“By today, SAN will prepare a cheque of N1m to be handed over to the DSS for his feeding.

“I will also make sure I raise money and take the DSS along with me to make sure he has enough food to eat since the federal government can’t take care of him.”
