Aliyu Salisu, a 19-year-old kidnapper, was arrested while collecting the victim's parents' ransom.

The Nigeria Police Force officers apprehended kidnapper Aliyu Salisu, 19, as he was extorting money from the parents of a victim. On January 6, Salisu and his team members Abdulrazak Ibrahim and Mohammed Ibrahim, both 19 years old, abducted Fatima Abubakar, a little girl, from Bachirawa quarters in Kano state. The girl was quickly taken to Katsina, where they demanded N2,000,000 in ransom from her parents. After learning of the kidnapping, the Katsina State Police Command acted quickly to apprehend Salisu while he was paying the ransom. The arrest of Salisu prompted the arrest of further syndicate members. The Public Relations Officer of the Kasina police command confirmed the occurrence and stated that the accused will be charged in court after investigations were finished.
