"The reasons I had two abortions at 19 and 24" Phyna BBNaija , talks

 Ijeoma Otabor, also known as Phyna, who won Big Brother Naija Level Up, has spoken out about her abortions. The Edo- State star recently caused a sensation online when she admitted to having an abortion. Phyna recently discussed her decision to terminate her pregnancies at ages 19 and 24 in an interview with Vanguard. She said that because she was young and from a low-income family during the first pregnancy, she couldn't afford to support a child. She had to remove the baby during her second abortion since the relationship she was in was poisonous.

She said, “Can you tell us the reasons for taking the decision?

As for my reasons for taking abortion pills, if there are 100 women in Nigeria today, 98 have done abortions. So, no one should judge me. I was in a 12-year relationship then and I was so young. The first abortion was when I was 19; I couldn’t go home to tell my parents that I was pregnant at that age. And the two pregnancies were so early like two to three weeks that I could just use tablets. The second was when I was 24, and I had finished serving then. I was ready to keep it but the relationship was getting toxic. He abused me and always beat me up. I said to myself that I couldn’t do this anymore, so I took it out and that was how I ended the relationship”.

Addressing the massive backlash sue received over her statement, Phyna said,

“In my family as a whole, we are very open. People just read meaning to things and say whatever they want, I really do not care. I was just laughing at their responses to me because those that know me know me, I am an open book. I actually responded to that woman when she said “I can’t respond to you, you are an abortionist,” and then I said yes that I have committed abortions. It is fine how people want to see me, I am not ashamed of anything about myself. If I ever make a mistake, I own up to my mistakes. When my dad called me about it, he asked why I said something like that, I just said daddy I learnt it from you oo”.

Phyna reportedly revealed some stunning revelations regarding her personal life a few days ago.  The BBN winner disclosed that she has undergone abortions on many occasions in a tantrum on Twitter. This was made clear by Phyna as she engaged in a physical altercation with some trolls who attempted to compare her to her ex-co-star Beauty Tukura. Phyna responded by wishing them a happy mother's day after a troll claimed that Beauty was both her father and mother. Another troll attacked her string of abortions while attempting to make fun of her.

Responding, Phyna admitted that she has done abortion, however, she doesn’t keep sugar daddies, neither does she force men to sleep with her.

“Yes I have had 2 abortions but I don’t do sugar daddies and force small small boys to sleep with me and hoeing around with disease at least I am not barren due to drugs”.

Remember how Phyna had clarified her position about having an unmarried child months prior? Many people believed that Phyna gave birth to a baby girl out of wedlock when she was living in Big Brother's house after seeing pictures of her and the alleged child on social media. Phyna clarified the situation by stating that the youngster is not her biological daughter in an interview for the E-splash podcast that was shown on TVC.

When asked about the baby, Phyna said: “My baby girl, yea she is fine. I have not seen her, she is with my aunt. It’s not like she is my child o. She’s my elder cousin’s child. His wife died. Since then I have been taking care of her. A lot of people think she is my child and yes she is. I am planning on bringing her with me I’m less busy.”
