Actress Funke Akindele is devastated after losing her mother.

 When acclaimed Nollywood actress and politician Funke Akindele loses her mother, it is a painful period for her. Mum of Funke Akindele passed away on February 7, according to a statement made by Olubunmi Akindele on behalf of the family. Olubunmi prayed for her soul and said the family will let people know about her funeral arrangements when it was time.

“It is with heavy hearts, but in total submission to God Almighty that the ADEBANJO and AKINDELE families announce the passing of their daughter, mother, grandmother and sister. DR. R B ADEBANJO-Akindele which occurred on Tuesday 07 February 2023.

May her gentle soul begin it’s rest eternal in peace. Amen. Obsequies in honour of her passing shall be announced in due course. The heartbreaking news was delivered months after Funke Akindele Bello had written her mum a loving birthday letter. On June 18, Funke Akindele expressed her gratitude for her mother's selflessness and kindness on Instagram. She made a point of mentioning how the guidance and teachings she had given her had helped mold her into the person she is now. She prayed that she would live a long time and be prosperous and well.

“My sweet mummy I love you mum!?? Thank you for being so selfless and kind. Your lessons and mentorship shaped who I am today. I am forever grateful mom. I wish you many more years on earth in good health and wealth ma….”.

Days ago, Paul Adefarasin, the senior pastor of House on the Rock Church, revealed the passing of his mother, Hilda. At the age of 98, she died away on Sunday night, February 5.

"We praise the Almighty God for the life of our mother, Mrs. Hilda Joanne Adefarasin (née Petgrave), who died unto glory quietly in her home on the evening of Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the age of 98," Pastor Paul wrote in a statement on Monday.

“She is survived by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

“As we reflect with gratitude over the illustrious life of service led by Mrs. Hilda Joanne Adefarasin as she parented her children, doted over her husband, and impacted generations and communities, we are reminded of her unwavering love for our LORD Jesus Christ.

“We covet your prayers and ask that you do allow us these initial days to grieve privately.

“Obsequies, venue for condolence visits & visiting hours will be announced soon.”

This is coming just three weeks after his mother marked her 98th birthday.
