Peter Obi: Seun Kuti Mocked As Tweet Praising Tinubu For Bringing Buhari To Power Resurfaces

Seun Kuti, a Nigerian Afrobeat singer, was criticized online after a tweet congratulating All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu on ushering in President Muhammadu Buhari emerged.

News earlier claimed that unrest erupted after the son of the late iconic singer, Fela Anikulapo, labeled the former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi as a 'Opportunist'.

Taking aim at Peter Obi, the singer stated that he is an opportunist who defected to the Labour Party after losing in the PDP and that he cannot help Nigeria.

In a Twitter post, Peter Okoye attacked Seun, stating he is frustrated and has erased his father's history.

Their disagreements were so intense that Peter brought Seun's family, especially his father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, and nephew Made, into the conflict.

Seun Kuti took to Instagram to bash Peter Okoye and gloat about being nominated for a Grammy, despite the fact that the latter has never been nominated.

The musician also blasted Peter for earlier aligning himself with both the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and performed for monetary gain at their campaigns.

Peter Okoye also responded to Seun, stating he is a Grammy nominee who still lives in the trenches, and asking him to remove the word "Fela" from his name and see how unpopular he becomes.

As the social media feud raged on, several Nigerians unearthed a 2015 tweet in which Seun congratulated Tinubu for bringing Buhari to power.

He wrote on Twitter:

I am grateful to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for initiating this transformation. Continued Aluta.

This drew him scorn and criticism, with many accusing him of honoring a guy who imprisoned his father.
