“Don’t shut me up” Naira Marley declares Sanwo-Olu the ideal man for the job

Nigerian singer Naira Marley broke her quiet and spoke out on election-related issues, particularly those pertaining to Lagos. The musician recently stated that he will soon express his opinions on the impending elections and that he no longer wanted to remain silent. Naira Marley expressed himself on his Instagram page in a live video on Wednesday night and endorsed Babajide Sanwo-olu for governor in the 2023 election. Although not being a member of any political party, the artist declared his support for the APC's nominee for governor of Lagos state. He continued by saying that there has been considerable infrastructural and other development, which is visible and easy for everyone to see.

Naira Marley stated that despite the usual pattern of fan outrage following the declaration of a favoured candidate, he cannot be silent in his choice. He thinks that because Lagos is a highly advanced megacity, it cannot be left to a politician without political expertise.

Similarly, Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has shown she has a thick skin by supporting the incumbent governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, despite the countless accusations she has faced for her support of the All Progressive Congress's president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Badmus, who has been numb to repeated defamations, posted a photo of governor Sanwo-Olu posing with a times sign (X), which symbolizes another four years in government, on her Instagram page. She tagged Sanwo-Olu Mr. sellable in the caption of her image and urged Lagosians to vote for him once more.

She wrote: “Mr sellable Le kan si 4+4 vote @jidesanwoolu for another term on the 18th March 2023”

Since the Independent National Electronic Commission moved the 2023 gubernatorial election from March 11 to March 18, Governor Sanwo-Olu has been canvassing for votes by going to churches, markets, mechanic shops, hair salons, playing football in public, and other locations.
