"You guys have fulfilled my dream," I said. DJ Switch writes a letter of gratitude to Youth

Nigerian DJ Switch, also known as Obianuju Catherine Udeh, has sent a thank-you letter to the country's young for altering the political narrative. Remember that on October 20, 2020, during the statewide EndSARS protest, DJ Switch, who had been living in exile, went viral after she live-streamed Nigerian Army soldiers killing demonstrators at the Lekki tollgate. DJ Switch, who stated that she has always thought that change will come to Nigeria, reacted to how the youth have somewhat altered the narrative in that country's politics by saying that there is still a long way to go, but her faith is rekindled.

DJ Switch said in a painful comment that she won't see the shift coming but that she is most appreciative that the young people realized her aspirations. She tweeted: “I want to say thank you to our vibrant youths. I’ve always believed change will come to Nigeria but I would always end that statement with, “I know I won’t see it.” But you guys have made my dream come true… I know it’s still a long way to go but my faith is renewed. Thank you!”

In another tweet, DJ Switch joked about the campaign strategies of the Lagos State’s incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu seeking re-election.

In order to persuade the people of Lagos to vote him in again on March 11th, the governor has used a variety of outdoor advertising, including visits to churches and hair salons.

"I hear claim Sanwo Olu don turn usher for church Miracle no dey taya who?" DJ Switch stated in a tweet.

DJ Switch was harassed by controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo last year after she asserted that the End SARS shooting footage was altered.

On December 2, Kemi Olunloyo wrote on her Facebook page that DJ Switch was not a hero and urged the mother of one to follow the example of foreign media outlets by apologizing to Nigerians for her allegedly "misleading" reporting.
Yet, Olunloyo said that she had seen in a different video how a female NTA reporter and her cameraman had been trapped in the crossfire just as the soldiers had arrived.

She claimed that she was unable to determine from her research whether the NTA staff members were from Lagos or Abuja, but that they were stranded at the scene that night while covering the regular operations.
Olunloyo wrote: “DJ Switch has misled the world because of her LIVE video where she was acting like a hero. SHE WAS NOT ONE. This may be why the Buhari government may be bragging that they will “disgrace and expose her soon” Unfortunately there was ANOTHER VIDEO I watched last November 2020 during my #IJLekkimassacre investigation. A female NTA Reporter and her cameraman caught in the crossfire about the time the army arrived 6:30pm October 20th 2020.”
Adding, “His camera was videotaping DJ Switch and a lot of other things while they were ducking away from bullets. They had no idea what they captured. NTA is owned by the government. I didn’t know if the state sponsored network staff were from Lagos or Abuja but they were there that night to cover the nightly activities and were trapped at the scene. DJ Switch should apologize to Nigerians and the world like CNN, EIE and Amnesty Nigeria for their “massacre numbers” and propaganda.”
