"I started to detest and grow a deep hatred for her." Chacha Eke discusses her psychological battle with her mother.

Nollywood actress Chacha Eke has opened up about how her mother's mental illness ruined their relationship. Chacha pondered on how, as she grew older, she came to hate and despise her mother as she observed her mother's birthday today. She admitted to having dreams and hallucinations that accompanied her exhilaration, and regrettably, many men of God warned her that her mother was out for her blood after multiple man!c episodes. So she continued to want her mother dead until she realized she had unhealthy mental patterns and beliefs that made her swing from loving her to loathing her.

“This is a video of me and my biological Mom. I loved her intensely when I was younger. She was, and still is my best friend. However, as I got older, I began to dislike and develop a deep hatred for her. I had nightmares and hallucinations that supported my euphoria. Sadly, many men of God told me after several man!c episodes that she was after my life. And so I went about wishing her death and spewing despicable things about her.

Looking back now at my mental health challenges and journey, it’s laughable to know that those dysfunctional thought patterns and beliefs of mine were a disorder, a chemical reaction in the brain waves that switches your “most favorite” to “your least favorite”.

Dear reader, many people have been emotionally torn apart from their loved ones due to underlying mental conditions. They’d come up with all sorts of negative stories to back up their disillusioned claims. Thankfully, there are pills for those weird inexplicable feelings. Did you know?

Today is my mother’s birthday and I’m grateful to have realized it was all a sickness in my head while she’s still alive. I love you deeply Mommy. You’re a blessed woman. 9 Grandchildren and still counting.

Mental illness or not, Momma raised a Queen”.

Chacha Eke shared her experience with mental illness last year. After being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, the mother of four has been a passionate advocate for mental health. Recently, she has made a fresh disclosure regarding her personal life. Chacha acknowledged that she inherited her mother's 'craziness' and that she would probably pass it on to her kid. She also disclosed that she lost a child 18 years ago. She claims that the infant passed away, and she is still in anguish. Even though it's been more than ten years, she never forgets.

“I am cr@zy, I got it from my mama. My mama was a cr@zy woman, her mama was cr@zy. My daughter will probably grow up and be a cr@zy little lady.
